    1995 90HP 0g174918. Catalog calls it a rectifier but using ohm or diode check on a meter, it is open circuit on all poles even if you reverse leads.     dude...your thread is jacked...32 views and no replies. I have tried several times. There shouldn't be any severe slack in the shaft of the starter. Yes, there is a bushing in there and it's probably gone. Time for a new starter.

    What 2 stroke oil mix ratio are you guys running?

    I have a 1995 Mercury 90HP and when I purchased it, the previous owner told me to use 1qt to 6 gallons of fuel. That works out to be 25:1. Is there a recommended mix ratio for this motor? Would a 50:1 ratio be safe to use or not recommended? BTW, using Quicksilver synthetic blend.
