    1974 Evinrude 9.9-15hp conversion

    After looking at all the engine specs in the shop manual.....is it only the carb size which would complete a 9.9 to 15 hp conversion.?? Bore,stroke etc. all appear to be the same for both models. I bought what I thought ws a 15hp motor but after checking serial /model# found out it was a 9.9...

    1974 9.9 evinrude waterjacket gasket ????

    I have been rebuilding a 1974 9.9 Evinrude. Replaced all the waterpump components....however when I went to replace the waterjacket gasket with the parts I got from the iboats parts section the waterjacket gasket...although similar dd not quite match up. Also most of one side of the old gasket...

    What engine????

    Picked up an engine with a 15 hp cover and the following #s on Plate Model 10424S serial# E0003478 I assume this is a 9.9 hp engine and I think the year is 1974......am I close in my research. Thanks for the help.....Peter

    need year for light twin and cooling details

    Hi, recently was given a light twin which had been sent in for service/tune-up and then owner passed away several years ago. Engine cover a bit faded but inside was in mint condition.     Aint got no washers!!!!

    Hi...Ive been posting about a gearcase leak on an 83 90hp v4...as I was draining the lower unit I see that both of the screws..... drain and level check DO NOT have washers. The shop manual says to remove/replace washers. I was goung to drop the lower unit to pressure test it..My question is...

    gear case leak...continued!!!!

    OK...drained gearcase and had a good amount of water run out...ordered a lower unit seal kit..Question?? what is most likely source of leak? if lower o-ring went bad would this let water in...or would it most likely have come from another source.(higher up,such as water pump)..causing the lower...

    lower oil seal

    Hi..have an 87 evenrude v4 90hp motor ...has slow drip at prop. from gear oil...can the seals behind the prop be removed from the outside and new ones pressed in...or does the lower unit need to be torn apart and seals changed from inside...thanks for any help...Peter
