    Mercruiser 140 exhaust manifold temp?

    I was curious of what a safe temp for the exhaust manifold would be. My temp gage on dash never ever goes above 150 F but out of curiosity today on the water I put in IR gun on the exhaust manifold and it was like 450 to 500 F which seems way too hot.     How to change exhaust manifold gasket Mercury 3.0??

    Recently found out that my exhaust manifold gasket blew. I'm not big into engines but usually can figure things out on my own. How hard would this job be to do for myself as an inexperienced mechanic? Does anyone have a video of how to do it? Thank You!
