I'm still having trouble finding how to disconnect shift linkage on 1981 Johnson. The shift lever is just below the cowl on the outside. That is the only place I can find that has anything to do with shifting rod. Does that come apart somehow to disconnect shift rod. I've tried taking it...
I've got a lower unit problem(I think Clutch Dog). When dropping lower unit, where do you disconnect the shift cable. I've looked everywhere and can't find it. Other Johnsons I've worked on are under carbs. Any help would be appreciated.
