2001 VP 5.7 GXI-A won’t turn off with the key. Disconnect all wires at the key switch and still runs. Pull the emergency lanyard and still runs. Alternator is still charging.
I've read that the alternator can be back charging* the circuit. Some VP models have in-line diodes to prevent that...
