    75743S 1977 75 hp rectifier results and why it will not shut off.

    a mechanic told me that the rectifier may be bad since I checked and tested switch, and wiring, and it is on its third powerpac (not all by me). Is this possible? I performed the test on rectifier with a digital elec volt meter tester. this is what I got. <br /> <br />yellow grey to ground...

    meaning of tach settings on back

    I am going to use a tach from a friend. he never used it and it came with his motor. want to check my idle speeds and running speeds/rpms. there is a dial on the back that goes from 1 (I believe), all the way up to 6. is this for the number of cylinders of the motor? thanks for any help.

    1977 75 hp - quits when shifting unless I rev it up some with warm up lever

    doesnt miss a beat when tooling around the lake. but upon start up, and letting it warm up some, I find it hard to gradually shift forward or reverse from idle.     1977 75 hp water tube guide on impeller housing

    upon taking apart the lower unit housing, the water tube guide hold down bolt that screws into impeller housing fell out of the lower unit housing. threads are fine. screws in fine. should I put thread sealant on it, or torque it down. thanks.

    evinrude control key switch - wont kill motor

    1979 evinrude 75 hp. switch will not stop engine, have to choke it off. previous owner, had trouble also, switched key switch, I replaced power pack, same thing. any suggestions. thanks.
