    rpms go up but speed doesn't

    i've got a merc 140 that when it shifts into gear the boat starts moving at idle speed but when i give it gas only the rpms go up. any suggestions on what it could be?

    mercruiser fuel and temp

    i have a 68 mercruiser 140 and was wondering what kind of fuel to use. it says on the side use leaded ( regular or premiem) 93 octane minimum. is this true? if so how much lead should i add. and also what temp should this boat normaly run at?

    i took my stern drive off to fix a water hose and can't figure out how to get the thing back on. it's a mercruiser 140. 70's i think. serial number 3354343. is there a trick i don't know about?
