    buying parts

    I found a guy on another boating site that has a part I need. At least he says he does. what is the best way to handle an online transaction for a part? It's only 30 bucks for a part that could cost me 100 or more elsewhere but it feels almost like gambling. I suck at gambling!!!

    johnson 9.5 1970 starter spring

    My Johnson model #9r 70c has a problem with the hand starter. It broke when I fell back while pulling it. At first it would still rewind if I took the hood off and manually moved it a bit. Then after a few pulls it wouldn't rewind at all. I took it apart and found the tip of the spring...

    9.9hp compared to 15hp

    What is the actual power difference between a 9.9 and 15 hp motor. It seems logically the 15 would be a third more powerful but logically doesn't always work. I'm wondering if it would be worth it to step it up a notch. I have a valco 14ft.<br /><br /> Thanks for any info

    1970 johnson 9.5 spring retainer

    I have a 1970 johnson 9.5 mod#9r70c. I need the spring retainer that is housed inside of the starter spring. This is the garage door looking spring not the big loop type. The spring is about 8in tall and the spring retainer looks like a bolt with a prong on the end and is also 8in. Any ideas...
