    how to set up 12v for fishfinder,navaids etc

    having just bought a 16ft dory with a 15hp 1983 johnson i want to set up a 12v system to run fishfinder, radio gps etc.<br />what is the best way to set this up from scratch? is there a system on the engine that would charge the battery or would i need to trickle charge once used?<br />any help...
