    The brushes in my starter are gonners, and the local dealer says they don't list a brush set. in fact, the only thing listed is a new starter (over $200). He said he may have a used starter for half the cost of new. Has anyone found a less expensive way to fix it?

    I bought a boat rather cheap and not running. But the compression checks ok (100 to 112 psi). I noticed the timing mark is at BDC of #1 (top cylinder) instead of TDC. I was wondering if maybe it has the wrong flywheel, or if I have other problems.
