    Trim tab motor

    I am on Lake Marion in S.C. Not many dealers here. I purchased a pontoon and the trim tab cylinder was laying on the floor. Is there some way to test it to see if it is OK? Like can I touch the wires to the battery terminals and expect the motor to run? Thanks

    1981 Johnson replaced water pump and now no water and no forward gear.

    I know I should have checked more before I started replacing the rotor impeller in the water pump. I also had it in reverse when I pulled it apart. I pryed on unit before finding the linkage nuts at the water intake and then forced the lower unit back to gether by tightening the bolts...
