    Sealant on exhaust tube seals? 1980 Johnson 60

    I'm ready to reinstall the lower unit on my motor but am wondering whether to use a sealant, an adhesive, or nothing on the exhaust tube (just behind the water pump) seals. My Johnson manual doesn't describe the procedure.<br /><br />Any thoughts?<br /><br />Thanks,<br />Paul

    best lube for driveshaft splines at crank?

    I'll be reinstalling the lower unit on my 1980 Johnson 60 tonight. Original manual says to use OMC "Moly grease." I've seen both triple guard and white lithium grease recommended here.
