    Alarm sounding at higher RPM in neutral

    2006 5.0 MPI Mercruiser. Alarm sounding at over 2500 RPM when in neutral. All fluid levels are OK and temperature and oil pressure are normal. Is this a thing that happens in neutral ??? Not ventured further than the dock at this point until further invetigation.

    5.0 MPI Fuel grade.

    Just got a Chaparral 215 SSI (2006) Loving the boat but never had the MPI before on a boat. Advice on the best grade of fuel to use would be appreciated. Ethanol free ?? octane rating ??? any information is helpful. Thanks in advance.

    Just got ourselves a Chaparral

    Just closed on our first Chaparral. it's a 2006 model 215SSI with 170 hours on it. 5 litre Mercruiser with fuel injection and an Alpha outdrive. Unfortunately after just getting it we have to winterise and wait for spring again !!!! Oh Well !!!!

    Cleaning below water line.

    Looks like a heavy calcium build up on the underside. Any tips other than the regular hull cleaner ??? That stuff is shifting nothing. Tried some toilet bowl cleaner as well with minimal results. Thanks for any and all advice.

    Heading Out.

    Mrs Ken and I are heading out on a 5 day cruise tomorrow to the Bahamas and back. We have not been on a cruise ship since we were in our early 20's. Should be an eye opener for us I think. Back early next week.

    You know you need a cover and automatic bilge pump when ........

    We got 6 inches of rain in 4 hours last Friday evening at the campground. This uncovered boat with no bilge pump didn't make it unfortunately. Boat was unregistered with the marina and the owner not traceable. Will see if anyone came looking for it this weekend.
