    block question for a 77 9.8 motor

    Could use some quick help. One of my cylinders is fried so I was going to send out to be repaired, but I saw an E-Bay item that is the block assembly from a 1989 9.9. The part number 875-8472C3. My question is will ths block work with 1977 9.8? Thanks for your help.
