I have a 1991 OMC tracker pro 60 hp. Tilt trim motor is totally rusted though into the motor, does nto work. Removed the four snap rings that seem to hold it all in, the pins that go through the bottom and the tilt cylinder at the top will not budge, have been using PB and a hammer with no...
warm and throttle open, i get 140, 135, 140.. cold i get like 135, 125, 135 or so... fresh rebuild, around 25 hours on the motor so far, ive been building compression as the rings seat but wondering if that middle one will ever come up?
ok i found a place that has teflon sheet that isnt too bad. i need to find a bit longer router bit to copy my impeller. so far i think this is going to work. any sugesstions?
hey i want to ventilate my prop. do i just need a 1/2" drill bit and a dremel to smooth it out? where do i drill into the thing? How many holes are acceptable. lets get it on! I love modifying stuff man!
think i could get an impeller made up out of teflon? or maybe poly-ethelyene plastic? why are they made of rubber anyways? arent the screens on the pickup supposed to keep the rocks out?!
hey anyone every seen a white residue on the carb bodys and starting to collect on the carb throats? is almost looks like white lithium grease, but it isnt. does gas-oil mix with water to become a white sludge? im running a filter and a water seperator.
i have a jhonson 60 hp 1993 and i went to the dealer and got the thermostat and thermostat gasket, and changed them. i just cranked up the motor and let it idle during its warmup deal, didnt throttle it up any, and 3 minutes later the water is warm comming out of the tale tale, probly around...
I have been messing with my boat at least twice a week since i got it last year.. i just cant stop messing with it! what is going on? anyone else have this problem?
where can i find one? i have two that are fairly new and they both leak air and go flat. you can hear it. i took off the metal bands and redid them TIGHT with tie straps and the still leak. i suppose there is no hope for them. ok im not running the motor or anything, im just pumping them filling...
ive got some really black junk leaking from where the bearing carrier meets up with the leg inside... its dripping ont the carrier, down the prop shaft and onto the prop. at first i thought it was the propshaft seals, but it looks like it is comming from above? what should i look for? sound...
ok ive got another 12 gallon tank bringing my fuel capacity to 24 gallons plus a 5 gallon gas can just in case. no im not planning on crossing the gulf o mexico, i just am getting ready to make the haul down the intracostal waterway to the duck shootin grounds (national refuge). I know a back...
had my motor re-ringed, ran my boat around 19 hours or so, and remembered the stoopid head gasket re-tourque. so last weekend i tourqed them all to 18 lbs folliwing the sequence. i almost got 2 turns out of one bolt! this worries me, could anything have happened? have i caught it in time?
Would adding a slight amount to methanol do any good for me trying to get some water out of the gas? im sure ive got a little as all these gas stations around here suck. as a preventative measure think it would hurt or help? ive re-ringed once already due to water, now i run a water seperator...
im getting a miss on cylinder one, and i look under the hood, and there is a spark jumping from the plug wire where it hooks onto the pack to the pack itself? it is intermittent, so it seem that the plug wire is not getting a good ground from the plug? or connections inside the plug wire? could...
Wednesday evening was slightly choppy on the lake, tide was out, and slight breeze. Ran WOT up to 5380 RPM is where it maxxed due to the chop couldnt trim out anymore due to stability. Saw some birds about middle of the lake and head for them. Slowed the motor on the approach, and it died...
Does anyone know if there is a bolt on that will allow the prop from ever comming in contact with a stump or rock? kinda like something that would extend in front of the pro to deflect the obstruction? like a stabilizer that goes on the cavitation plate, but around the prop?
I can only assume this is gear lube! could i have a busted seal or something? it is a slow leak and it seems to be comming from in between the prop and the case. Also i think i have a bent prop shaft? I turn the prop by hand and it wobbles slightly. Is a shaft hard or expensive to replace...
