I recently purchased a 16ft jon boat side console with a 1989 30HP johnson 2 stroke on it. The motor will start up, idle most the time, run fine until about a little past 1/2 throttle. at about 3/4 it will surge power every 5 seconds. at full throttle it runs fine for 10-15 seconds then dies...
