1989 Sea Ray 200 BR Interior rebuild and new layout

I was only looking to fiberglass for potential added strength. I was hoingvto add a fishing seats mount in tge center of the engine hatch. Because of this I was goingvto add some structural supports on the under side to prevent sagging. Would this approach be enough without fiberglass over 32"...

1989 Sea Ray 200 BR Interior rebuild and new layout

Update: I worked on mocking up the sundeck sections and got them well coated in the OTF. I will make the access holes larger and more radiused. I am also going to put a u channel around the access holes for a cleaner look. Questions: If I am going to glass over the OTF treated wood, do I still...

1989 Sea Ray 200 BR Interior rebuild and new layout

I just realized they are not visible in the pictures but I have strategic cutouts on the side panels to work on the engine. I will give a second look to make sure they are big enough.

1989 Sea Ray 200 BR Interior rebuild and new layout

Thanks, I would appreciate a look at your seat bases. If possible could you measure the pole. I was considering cutting the springs off the ones I have but I suspect the pole is shorter on the pre-made. No nearby Chappie dealer.

1989 Sea Ray 200 BR Interior rebuild and new layout

I am in the process of rebuilding the doghouse and replacing it with a sundeck. The goal of my build is inspired by two other boats. The Chaparral Ski & Fish and the Tahoe Chaparral: Tahoe: I am going to rip the cooler design from the Tahoe and the removable fishing seats from the...

    Quadrajet Replacement Options

I was able to solve the problem. It came to cleaning and reassembling the seat and needle and then bench testing per Cliff's instructions.

    Quadrajet Replacement Options

Does anyone know what the fuel pressure is supposed to be at? I can test that to eliminate the possibility.

    Quadrajet Replacement Options

Regarding the too high fuel pressure...is it common for the fuel pressure to be fine and then it isn't and goes higher? This engine has a mechanical fuel pump. I assume when they go they drop pressure but that is based on nothing.

    Quadrajet Replacement Options

Update Time: I got the rebuild kit from Cliff's and put the rebuilt carb on the engine. There is an issue I have never had or seen before. There is gas coming up the up the accelerator pump shaft and additional fuel coming out near the secondary rods. Obviously something is not correct but...

1989 Sea Ray 200 BR Interior rebuild and new layout

I am at the point of rebuilding my old boats interior. Pics to come soon. I am removing the doghouse and reading with a sundeck similar to the 1989 SeaRay 160 Super Sport models. Before the new seat layout goes in I want opinions on carpet and flooring. I want the flooring to be EVA foam but I...

    Quadrajet Replacement Options

A heads up to all, I went to Cliff's. He was super helpful and believes he can get my current Quadrajet back up and running to where it needs to be. He had model specific parts that I needed to resurrect it. I will update when the rebuild is complete and tested.

    Quadrajet Replacement Options

Thanks all. I personally liked the Q jet. For those wondering, plug and play for me means very little need for additional parts accessories. Tuning is always necessary. Its a carb, it is as much science as a lost art of tuning. My carb is physically damaged. I am debating going the Q jet...

    1989 4.3 LX Quadrajet Rebuild

Thanks for the advice so far. Those videos helped me with reassembly. Does anyone know the part number or how to find the part number for the Power Piston spring? I can get a kit with many different spring sizes but I do not know which one is the right one. FYI - my rebuild kit didn't have one...
