    Johnson 40 hp stuck in reverse.

    I have a pontoon with a 1895 40 hp johnson. While running and shifting from reverse to forward it just stayed in reverse. All positions of shifter run in reverse. I do not have neutral or forward. Any quick suggestions? It will start while in gear, does this hurt the motor? Will running it...

    40 HP Evinrude outboard - fires but won't start.
