    70hp johnson WOT

    I have bought a 18 ft astro with a 70hp johnson (i know small motor for the boat). It runs good and gets on plane quickly but it only runs about 32mph max. My father in-law has a 17ft tracker with a 40hp johnson and it will go that fast. Is there any way I can get more speed out of it?

    I ran the motor for 10 mins on the hose the day before I took the boat out and it ran fine. The next day I took it to the lake and it would start, but would only run for a sec(acted like it was flooding out). I tried it the next day at the house and it ran fine but then started to die out...
