    I bought a 40hp merc that a guy ran hot, I checked the compression and got 50psi and 60psi in the other. I know thats low. Now i have another motor that reads 120 in both cycs.     79 40hp merc stator/flywheel

    Im replaceing the stator on a 40hp merc. Does it matter where the flywheel has to go back on? theres no marks on it and the stator is round and has contacts all the way around it the fly wheel has 2 magnets on each side under it.

    I have a 40hp merc that im going to put a new stator on but need to know where the wires go? I know the 2 yellow go to the regulator. Where the other two go? I rewired the engine years ago and used all red wires.
