    Still leaking. After unloading the boat it seemed to be ok. After a short ride we beached for a while. During the next ride the leak started back and it continued until I left the lake. Any advice?

    I took the fuel pump off and apart. I see why they use the security torx. Didn’t see anything so I put it back together and back on the boat. Fired it up and the FVS is not leaking. Idk. Turned it off and on a few times and it seems to be ok. I’ll take it to the lake tomorrow and see how she runs.

    I had to leave for work before I was able to test for a dead cylinder. I’ll get a chance to work on it again in a few weeks. It makes sense that something isn’t quite right internally that would cause the other adjustments to be so extended(?).

    You read correctly. The idle stop screw is almost all the way in. A few threads are left on the head side of the screw. I’ll run her up and pull the plug wires and see what we got.

    The idle screw itself is not moving. Is the trunnion the part made into the air intake cover that holds the cable adjustment barrel? What is your suggestion on how to make sure she’s running on all 4 cylinders and to check the piston skirt condition?

    The book calls for BTDC. The flywheel only has numbers on one side of TDC. The timing is set based on the 5° on the flywheel.

    Does the timer base have a spring or something that is supposed to pull it back to the idle position or is the return strictly in the throttle cable? I ask because when the cables are disconnected the arm will stay where it is and only the slightest amount of force is necessary to put it back...

    Approx 2.6” on cable movement and 2.3 needed for linkage. The 2.6 is without any pressures. There is some slop in the ends. They can stretch and compress. I feel like that’s the case with all cables. I verified that the other set of shorter cables I have also has slop in the end.

    Motor put in a barrel so I could get back pressure. I started from the beginning. Made sure the cable is in a good position and all slack is out. 1 loop in the cable. It’s at a good radius. Followed the procedure from start to finish as documented in this thread...

    I agree. Should be simple. No boat shops want to work on an old motor. I’ve called a couple. They’ve basically said “No”.
