    Are carb floats reusable?

    I finally got my stuck float out. It was stuck to the shaft that goes straight through it. Kinda nasty down there, but its nothing that can't be cleaned. Anyway, the float is in good condition, save for a few dents made by the screwdriver. Is it alright to put back in and continue to use?

    I live on the Oregon coast at sea level. If I were to take my boat to Lake Tahoe at 6500ft above sea level, would my carburetor need adjustment? I've heard people talking about rejetting their motors for high altitude operation. Is the air really thin enough to cause the motor to run too rich?
