    Water leak

    Today I noticed water leaking from the bottom of my engine cowling. 1989 Mercury 35hp serial# 0b393755. The tell tail stream looks normal and the engine doesn't seem to be overheating. Is this an adapter plate gasket leaking? Will I have any ill affects if it's not repaired right away?

    89 Mercury tach?

    The Teleflex tach on my 89 Mercury 35 serial #0b393755 doesn't read anything until it gets to 1000 rpms. At the other end, when it reaches 4500 rpms it starts bouncing back and forth. Any ideas guys? On the back of the tack which switch position should it be set on? Right now it's set on P2.
