    resealing 1977 upper gear cases on omc

    i was wondering if changing from cable steering on a duel stern drive to a hydraulic steering would help stable the steering so turning the wheel one way it wouldnt be "harder" and the other way make it more responsive(too much freeplay it feels like in the cables).

    omc 3.0l carb issuse

    i've changed the plugs,cap and rotor, (not the points yet or wires) but will be doing the wires cause one broke. the rpms keep rising on its own. adjust the idle screw and the rpms come down but after awhile they go back up? cleaned the carb, and linkage any suggestions what it could be??? thanks

    sounds like grinding when put in reverse

    when we put the port side motor/unit in reverse we hear like a grinding/bad noise. the guy we bought from said we have an electric shift. is there a way to check the fluid level in the transmission, or has anyone ever had this problem??

    calmec autopilot

    has anyone ever heard of a calmec autopilots? i have a 1977 mirrocraft with the calmec, but inop. missing a controller or something. was told that a previous owner threw a controller over board into the lake. can anyone help? thankyou
