    Help fixing bouncing tach

    Have a Volvo 3.0 GS Tach is steady up to about 3800 and then starts bouncing above that. What should I check first. I'm guessing it's not the tach unit itself seeing as its solid uo to 3800. Thanks!

    Why no rev limiter on Volvo 3.0 GS?

    I bought a 1999 4Winns Horizon 170 and the tach starts bouncing over 4000. I'm trying to make sure I'm not going over the recommended 4600 but with the bouncing tach I have no clue. Might even be hitting about 4900. Why doesn't engine use a rev limiter? I know that only prolonged use over 4600...

    Erratic tach over 4000

    Just bought 1999 4Winns horizon 170 with Volvo 3 gs. Tach is steady up to about 4k and then starts bouncing. I'm trying to figure out if the boat is propped right and it's frustrating bc I can't get an accurate read. Thanks for helping!
