    Mercury 40HP lack of acceleration

    Good Morning <br />My 1990 40hp Mercury stars fine and works fine at low speed, but does not GO when more acceleration is requested. Sometimes it does accelerate but it takes few minutes to get to full throttle.<br />Thanks :eek:

    Good Afternoon. Mercury 40hp 1990 engine running strong for 45 min, stalls a little bit and after 1 min stops. After 15 min starts again, runs good for another 20 min. I anchored the boat for 30 mins and engine did not turn on at all. Next day I noticed the 20amp fuse was blown out. Replaced it...
