    i replaced the reeds on my 50 hp and set the air gap and now it will idle but as soon as you give it throttle it dies and if you hold you fingers over the front of the carb, it will accelerate fine carb has been checked and is clean plugs are new and before i replaced the reeds it would not idle...

    reed valves 88 50 hp force

    i resonantly replaced the reed valves on my out board and tried to start it but now it does not want to accelerate should the reeds have a air gap the old reeds had a big air gap but had no power and would not idle down
