    Starter 1996 3.0LX

    I just received an aftermarket starter for my 96 3.0LX. It came with a shim and nose gasket. The old one did not have gasket or shim when I puled it from the boat--do I need to install them with the starter?

    Mercruiser 1996 3.0 carb mixture screw

    I have a 1996 Sea ray 175 that I just bought. It was running a little rough so I read somewhere if you take out the mixture screw, and can spray carburetor cleaner in there and put the screw back. I cannot get the screw to go back in. Do I need to take it apart?
