    Removing powerhead from motor leg on 1984 50HP

    Hi All, Orig I thought this was a 85, but its an 84 per the model #. I have to reseat the copper tubing for the water pump into the bottom of the powerhead. Fell out while checking the impeller. I want to also change the grommet which this is supposed to seal the tubing to the motor. Side note...

    50HP Force only idles when put into drive, never revs up, propeller creeps boat forwd

    Just got a used 1985 50hp force. I know nothing about outboards but can do almost anything to a car. So, giving this cheap motor a shot. The motor starts just fine. Idles fine. Put it into forward gear the prop spins, push the throttle down and it stays idleing. The boat slowly moves forward...
