    base timing for 2.5L with EST

    MerCruiser 2.5L S#5741396 (1980ish) that originally used points and has been changed to an EST ignition system. Was wondering what the base timing was for this model if it has been changed to an EST, with points I believe it was set to 8*BTDC. Does it stay the same with an EST system? Thanks

    3.0l mercruiser dies at 1500 rpm

    1999 Mercruiser 3.0l dies when I try to give it throttle. The engine idles fine, I can make it through the no wake zone. Once I try to accelerate it just dies. When I ran the engine off of muffs, it did not have this issue. Only happened when I was on the water. This boat sat for 4 years...
