    Fuel Tank incorrectly labelled?

Yes. I replaced it today with the vertical style (wema), and what a beauty. Like you said, no more guessing, no more worrying. In the end, I didn't empty the tank. At this point, I'm confident the tank's label is fine. Yesterday, I filled up the tank and used approx 20 liters (based on...

    Clanking/rattling sound after prop change

Regular fuel. Nothing has changed. 'm just going to check the timing proactively. Question is, is 1 btdc or 2 ATDC?

    Clanking/rattling sound after prop change

I know this is an old thread. Let me know if a new one is required. Revisiting the timing topic (I'm going to make sure it's all good after 3 years), I wonder if I misread the manual. If I strictly follow the serial break of manual 26 page 222, my engine should be 2 degrees ATDC (note #4), not...

    Fuel Tank incorrectly labelled?

That's quite methodical approach. I always fuel before every trip, no matter if I know it will only take a few gallons.

    Fuel Tank incorrectly labelled?

Thank you. This idea pushed me to get that sender out...got all scratched up.

    Fuel Tank incorrectly labelled?

Yes I have the upward loop and the vent. When it fills up, if I keep pumping, gas comes out of the vent. In fact, when filling up at the gas station, I always put paper towel directly below the vent..in case it spills.

    Fuel Tank incorrectly labelled?

Not from outside...tank is literally burried. I could if I stick the measure tape through the sending unit hole. But the tank is v shaped at the bottom so not sure how to work that out.

    Fuel Tank incorrectly labelled?

Lol. Quebec labelling. Yes, if the tank takes 23 gallons or so after emptying it out, I'm happy with that.

    Fuel Tank incorrectly labelled?

Ok...thanks all for your help and comments. I was on the lake pulling the tube. Lol. With lots on patience I managed to get the sending unit out. I'm not an expert but I think is shot lol...pictures. I'll get it replaced. Second, from the sending unit hole I can see the pickup line and I...

    Fuel Tank incorrectly labelled?

My boat has an under deck aluminum fuel tank. The label on the tanks indicates a capacity of 98 liters (25g), but I noticed that when the boat runs out of fuel, I can only fill it back with ~60 liters (16g). Is there any chance the label is incorrect, or is it the fuel pickup line too short...

Voltage Gauge All the way to the right side

It would appear the spring that pushes the needle to the left snapped, allowing the needle to swing freely...I haven't seen it moving, maybe it got stuck at the bottom of the gauge. I'm guessing there is no way to repair these gauges.

Voltage Gauge All the way to the right side

Hey all, Looking for input here. Last time I went out on the boat I noticed the voltmeter gauge is all the way to the right (way past the 18 v mark)...it doesnt move at all, regardless if the engine is on or off.... I'm going to troubleshoot it next time I go to the boat storage but I was...

Mercruiser 3.0 stalls after breaking through waves/wake

You are close. Not sure if corroded but the actual ignition switch is the culprit. If I wiggle the ignition key a little while the engine is running, the engine stalls. So there is the problem. We can close this thread :)

Mercruiser 3.0 stalls after breaking through waves/wake

Correct. And my oil alarm is not wired to cut power if the oil pressure drops; it only goes off (audible). I have a killswitch but the lanyard is connected all the time (the switch is always ON). I'll bypass it next time I'm out to see if the issue persists. Perhaps there is a loose terminal or...

Mercruiser 3.0 stalls after breaking through waves/wake

Do you mean gas pump? Why would the sudden loss of oil pressure turn off the engine?

Mercruiser 3.0 stalls after breaking through waves/wake

Hi, Sometimes, when I hit taller waves, or I break through another's boat tall wake, particularly when part of the hull lands hard on the water, the engine stalls. It sputters (no explosion) and dies slowly (even if I quickly shift to Neutral). I can restart it immediately without issues,. I...

    Water in the bilge

It's an estimate. Maybe it's an ounce, but always the same amount. Funny that I mainly spend time cruising or anchoring near a beach; my friends or family don't go swimming, and we rarely have drinks on the boat lol. It must be condensation, as @airshot suggested.

    Water in the bilge

I boat regularly during the boating season. 3 or 4 times per month. I won't take the outdrive just yet....it isn't that much water for the hassle, but thanks for the advice. I grease all the zerks (outdrive/transom assembly and coupler) at least once at the beginning of the season.
