    I have a friend who has a 73 mercury 115hp. He is having trouble with it pumping water. He has replaced the water pump but still can't get any water to come out. Claims he has no thermostat. I am no mechanic but thought someone here might could help. He has a manual.

    Auto/Man primer

    88hp john. yr89. had trouble with starting . i had to hold the auto choke to keep cranked. removed both carbs and cleaned and blew out with air. Good news is now it stays cranked. Bad news is i must keep the manual/auto switch on manual for it to stay running. any ideas?
