Water in oil, could this be the issue?

Is there a specific reason why? I thought Sierra was a good brand.

Water in oil, could this be the issue?

Thanks for the replies, I also have the spacers so all in all costs around 650ish per side all Sierra parts. Hopefully get everything installed and see how it does on the water.

Water in oil, could this be the issue?

Here’s a couple pics, they were pretty beat up. I was planning on replacing them and that’s when I found the watery oil and decided to try and diagnose that before throwing another 1k into it

Water in oil, could this be the issue?

Yes, you are correct. My starter was junk so I ended up replacing it. I have had to replace a lot of wires and switches lmfao. But would a bad exhaust manifold cause water to get into the oil pan? I’ve cycled two things of oil through it and it’s definitely thickened up like oil but it’s still...

Water in oil, could this be the issue?

I had a lot of water in the oil pan when I drained with an oil extractor. I left the boat drain plug in and it had rained a ton in central florida causing half of the motor to be submerged. It sat like that for about a week or so before I noticed. The boat has never been ran hot other than one...

Possible blown head gasket? Need Help!

Just trying to get any relevant experience from others to make sure I’m not doing anything extra. But for the spark plugs no, the ones that appear to have oil do not correlate with the low compression cylinder, and one is port side the other is starboard side. Hoping to be able to get the...

Possible blown head gasket? Need Help!

So today I pulled the plugs to do a compression check, some of the plugs had oil on them (No milky oil) I have oil and water mixing so I am trying to find the issue. All cylinders other than cylinder 4 had about 150 psi +/- 3. Cylinder 4 was reading about 60 psi. I also am waiting on a new...

Oh good idea! Yes it is a salt water boat. And before I got it, it sat for at least two years.

HELP! Brass threaded plug 2001 Mercruiser 4.3l

Yeah, I am kind of just guessing right now until I am able to do some tests. I am just confused as here in Florida we don't really get cold enough to freeze, the boat was getting warm on the port side riser when I parked it last August but it never got above 180 degrees. I am not sure what would...

HELP! Brass threaded plug 2001 Mercruiser 4.3l

Yes, the silver bolt Edit: Also if that's the case, why does the other manifold not look nearly as bad? when i took out the drain plug the water did not look milky, it was until that bolt blew off that I noticed the sludge, I pumped the oil out from the dipstick (the dipstick actually didn't...

Thank you, I think I’m gonna try this and check compression. Really hoping it’s the manifold.

HELP! Brass threaded plug 2001 Mercruiser 4.3l

I apologize, I re read this and I believe you are correct on this. The dipstick insert is on the port side but I believe they have the same hole on both sides

HELP! Brass threaded plug 2001 Mercruiser 4.3l

This is on the starboard side, the dip stick insert is on the port side. I know i need to get a better photo but its top left to the blue twist drain plug. I am hoping the manifold is leaking and thats the issue.
