    But one thing.. should there be a backer nut on the end of the rod? As a stop? Or just rod threaded into the bottom no nut?

    Yes. I actually measured height, I have to replace the shift rod o-ring.. I measured the height before I unscrewed the rode in order to remove the housing and slid the housing off the rod to access the o-ring. There was gear oil dripping down the back of the gear case on hot days.. and coming...

    I got all the bolts out.. the shifter rod is disconected.. why won't this thing just slide down.. I got one bolt in and once I loosen it the gear case slides about 1/8" and stops.. it wiggles just doesn't want to come the rest of the way. Can anyone help? Am I missing somthing??

    Also.. it does have a vent.. maybe it plugged over winter ill clear the vent.. change the lower unit. And check back in. Thanks for some feedback.

    Okay, ill drain thrower unit. Make sure there is no water. I also don't know if my tank has a vent. Might out one on. It's a permanent tank. But let me investigate and I'll get back. Would fuel constantly run out? I feel like it's alot for 1 day of sitting.

    I've also left the motor down and lower unit level.. now I'm thinking it's fuel.. because it was blue the first time I seen it.. and the 2 stroke oil I put in the fuel is blue. ... carb rebuild? Fk..

    Well to be honest.. it only runs out when the motor is tilted up. But it looks to be coming from around the shaft. I will send pic.

    Where can a guy get a kit of seals? And I'm not good with terms as of.. case, bearing carrier. Can I just take off the lower unit? Would be easier?

    I dont belive so. It smells like lower unit oil. Does fuel ever leak from down there? Idk why fuel would be down there. It leaks from around that shaft inside the red circle on the picture. I don't believe its coming from above.

    I just bought some trim tabs.. easy enough.. rather spend 100 bucks on tabs to do the job I need then 800 1000 on props.

    Yes.. I just bought some Bennet self leveling Trim Tabs. 10" recommended. Super good reviews and would help me anyway.. This way I can pull my son at lower speeds on the tube without having to pin it super fast just to keep up.

    Actually your 100% right. That's what it is.. Plus I had 40g of gas in it. That's a **** ton of weight. Might just have to have people up front till it plains. But I feel like it should Rev more than 3k even unplanned to give it power to pick it up out of the water. But idk I'll post a pic...
