    Yes, I know the engine was taken to a technician and they said that this point is the problem and needs to be replaced. Thank you for your answer, it adds precious knowledge, as all previous ones. I will insist on that bit with my friend.

    Thanks a lot. Since the engine is very old, nobody seems to have a replacement in Greece. Hence I asked if anyone knows where to find one. Thanks again for the tips.

    Hi all, I have offered to help an old friend to find a part for his old fishing boat's outboard engine. It is an old Tohatsu, most likely 9.9B2, as it was built before the '90s. I can't tell for sure, as not even he is certain. We live in Greece, in different locations, he can't speak English...
