    I have a rare 1989 Yamaha sterndrive lower unit with a damaged bearing carrier, 6J900 on it and also S-1. I have another good bearing carrier with the same number except this one has S-2 . Does anyone know if there’s a difference between these two carriers?

    Leaking just under the gimbal bearing

    89 Yamaha sterndrive with new bellows still leaking just under the gimbal bearing. I'm assuming its the exhaust gasket or a cracked y pipe. Is there a trick to diagnose this while the boat is in the water ?
