    I will run a compression test, there is no discoloring at or around the surface of the head.

    The young man said that he had it running and that's when he noticed that it wasn't pumping water and shut it down in a test tank. I replaced the tiller handle assembly and found that a 1986 Johnson tiller handle worked for a perfect fit. So using a 5lb sledge hammer head as a slide hammer...

I bought this motor for $50 and the young man that I got it from had said that it wasn't pump water. So no key way was put back in the impeller shaft when whoever reinstall...

    Is there an indent ring or is there a pin holding the shaft in place? My thoughts are using a 5lb sledge hammer head as a slide hammer against a pair of vise grips to tap it out. I've used Gibbs penetration oil and soaked it overnight.
