    When that happen to you, did the idle change? In my case, the motor idle at the correct RPM. It is just reverse barely above idle. The interesting part is that when I push in the gear bypass, I have full range of throttle on reverse.

    Yes, the prop spins the boat goes backward, just can't advance the throttle. With the other side disconnected at the motor end, the control acts the same when gear into reverse. With the motor not running, I put the gear in reverse and try to turn the prop and if feel solid also.

    don't think so.. I discounted the cable at the motor end of the other motor just to see if motor has anything to do with this. Both control at the binnacle behaves the same. Full range when gear button depressed. Something at the binnacle is causing the throttle not advancing when in reverse...

    I took the binnacle off to remount on to a new console and now, I do not have any throttle range on reverse when in gear. However, when I press the shift disengage button, reverse has full range of travel. Please let me know what I did incorrectly. Thanks for your time.
