    Thanks for the reply, here are some pics of the alternator before I removed it and I connected all the wires just as they were. Yes, current draw with the engine off and key off - all the gauges are energized since the current is not being shut off with the ignition. I have the battery...

    Got it figured out. The insert/washer just comes out easily from the back side of the balancer once you pull it off. It also easily taps into the new balancer. I have included pics of the insert out and installed into the new one.

    The back of the water impeller fits on the insert of the balancer. It must be there for the impeller housing. Trying to find out how the remove the insert. Is it pressed in or easily removed from the back. Thanks.
