Stern drive gasket cracked, should I be worried?

I replaced my bellows and bearing back in June with all new quicksilver parts. Everything went in smooth and the gasket was nice and flush when I torqued the 6 bolts holding on the stern drive to the Transom. I did notice after the first trip out on the water that the gasket pushed out a tad...

Time for my first bellow change, tips?

So I put the Exhaust Tube on last week and took the boat out a couple times this weekend, and boy is that thing much louder! I didn't think the noise would be different since the bellows was an open hole as well, but it sure was noticeably louder by all of us. Not obnoxiously loud, but there...

Time for my first bellow change, tips?

Do you remember if it worked? I know, I was hoping to try and see if they'd at least butt up next to eachother enough to sort of work like the exhaust tube does.

Time for my first bellow change, tips?

I was thinking about just cutting off the last ring of the boot in hopes that it would still slip onto the stern flange when tilted down, so at least the exhaust gas wouldn't be going onto the driveshaft bellows and shift cable.

Time for my first bellow change, tips?

yes I used the adhesive. I figured the sticky adhesive would help more. I suppose I can try to reinstall it without more adhisive, but I believe its the pulling on the bellows when its in the far up trailer position that's causing it to be pulled off.

Time for my first bellow change, tips?

So we took the boat out for the first time since I replaced all this, sat it in the water for over an hour to leak check, and she was great! However, after we went out on the water for a few hours, came back, loaded the boat back on the trailer, and I noticed my exhast bellows came off the...

Time for my first bellow change, tips?

I got everything back together! Thank you for all the help everyone! Now that I've done it once, I can see why the shops charge so much to do it, but I'm glad I was able to do it and save myself alot of money. Thanks for all the tips and tricks!

Time for my first bellow change, tips?

Ok guys, now I'm a bit stuck on installing the drive shaft bellows. That inner ring that goes inside the bellows is a b1tch to get on! I cannot get that ring to go inside the bellows to seat onto the stern housing. I made a homemade tool to press the ring on evenly, its a 4" iron cap screwed...

That stinks! I bought the quick silver kit with the exhaust bellows. I did buy the bellows installation tool too, so hopefully I can get it to stay on there! otherwise, I guess I'll get the tune later.

How to mount a trolling motor to Bayliner hull

Hello everyone, I have a Bayliner 185 that my son and I like to do fishing on. We like to hit some shallow spots and I could really use a trolling motor to get around those areas. I can't figure out how I'm supposed to mount a trolling motor to the nose of the boat, and wondering of there's...

Time for my first bellow change, tips?

I wanted to verify that there isn't supposed to be a rubber grommet or fitting around the cable going through the transom. I removed my cable and there was nothing. I was expecting a rubber grommet or fitting like the one that's on the sender wires, but it appears my shifting cable just freely...

Time for my first bellow change, tips?

Thanks for the feedback guys, I will be getting the Quicksilver brand, which I was told was OEM by the boat shop. Second question, I plan on cleaning off the corrosion on the transom. WHat kind of black paint should I use to repaint the assembly?

Time for my first bellow change, tips?

I planned on getting this Sierra kit 18-8206-1 from amazon. Sierra is a brand recomended by my local boat shop, its cheaper on Amazon, but I'm having trouble finding if this is the right part number. This plus the sealant and trim senders should be everything I need, right?
