Anybody have experience with a Minn Kota Traxxis?

Wow, this explains why there is near zero info on the web for this model.

    obsolete Minn Kota props

I've found a similar style prop on Ebay in the past for my 70's vintage model 15.. I'd start by searching there. Maybe set up a search with some keywords and let the software work for you.

Anybody have experience with a Minn Kota Traxxis?

The rear well on my Grumman fisherman is pretty wide. From the top edge of the transom to the front of the seat is near 30". It's quite a reach when it's time to reach back and manipulate everything to stow the motor. The Newport-X series 55# motor I have runs fine but it's just a brutal task...

Shift length on late model 10/15/20 hp Tohatsu 4 stroke.

Hi all, my old Mercury 2 stroke 15 has finally given up the ghost so I've ordered a new 20 hp Tohatsu 4 stroke to replace it. One of the things I'll miss dearly with the Merc was the ability to shift with the tiller. I'm wondering if there is way to move the shift on the new Tohatsu closer to...

Which wheeled Trailer jack, 8" single or 6" double wheel?

I can picture the issue with positioning the double wheel now that you say that. The smaller wheel could be a PITB. I've had a 8" single wheel in the past and thought it a great improvement over the 6" single ( on pavement anyway). I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something on the...

Which wheeled Trailer jack, 8" single or 6" double wheel?

I need to replace the jack on an old (85') vintage boat trailer. The trailer is largely used ( stored and pulled by hand) on asphalt but occasionally gets pushed into packed dirt/gravel. I want an upgraded wheel that will roll easier than a standard single 6" rubber wheel that is there now...

05' Tohatsu 15 4 stroke. Starts and dies within seconds.

Update: I had the materials so I just did a quick oil change. When I did, I measured the rest of the oil that drained from the motor at just about 33 oz. ( Which is what the manual states as capacity BTW) That means it had around 41 oz before I started!

05' Tohatsu 15 4 stroke. Starts and dies within seconds.

You Sir, are my hero! I was just getting ready to trouble shoot the carb further and noted your last statement about oil level. So I relooked at the dip stick and noticed that the oil level was a good 3/4" above the top/full mark. (I did have the motor running once before but the power head...

05' Tohatsu 15 4 stroke. Starts and dies within seconds.

Thank you for taking the time to respond. You're expert input is greatly appreciated. Yes, you have the model number correct. I didn't know what they call it but it does have a automatic choke of some type . I assume it is that white elbow looking thing sitting on top of the carb. So I just...

    2000 Tohatsu 5hp — design & reliability comparison?

These motors were good enough that ( like their 3.5 hp little cousins) Tohastu made them for Mercury, Nissan and Mariner. ( Same basic motor, different paint). I've owned 4-5 of them over the years and still keep one . ( All 98' or lower though) IMHO, nothing (even today) beats them for...

05' Tohatsu 15 4 stroke. Starts and dies within seconds.

Ok, admittedly I'm a 2 stroke guy ( and am pretty handy in fixing them) but when my 95' merc 15 hit the wall, I decided to take a chance on a newer 4 stroke. Found this one that was very clean, had low hours (used marginally as sailboat tender) and was maintained yearly at the local Tohatsu...

Need advice on troubleshooting low compression

Hi all, been a while since I've been around but could seriously use some advice on my current project. I have a 90's vintage Mariner 4hp one lunger that has low compression. (about 35#). (Got it froma guy that said it "just died". I've tried adding oil to the cyl to see if compression would go...

Low Compression on 4hp. What am I missing?

Looking for thoughts on what to look for next. So I have an 80's vintage Tohatsu built Mariner 4 hp motor that came back to me with 32# or compression in the one cylinder. I just (this weekend) pulled the head off in an attempt to fix and here is where I'm stuck. So the head looked good when I...

Torque for 4 B cylinder head (Please)

Nice day today so I got motivated to change the (suspected bad) head gasket on my Tohatsu built (85') Mariner 4 hp. It came apart nicely and it's cleaned up and ready to go back together with the new gasket. Then I realized my aftermarket service manual didn't list a torque spec and sequence...

Low Compression Troubleshooting on Tohatsu/Mariner 4 hp 2 stroke. What now?

Hi all, it's been a while since I participated in these forums . Hope you've all been well! So the subject motor came to me from a friend and wont' run or even "fart . It also seems to "pull" to easily. I have already verified that it has spark and fuel but it tests only 35 psi compression...

Yamaha F4MSHX, what can you tell me?

HI, A friend is looking to sell me a 98' manufactured 4 stroke 4hp Yamaha Part number F4MSHX but it will be a week before I can get up to his place to look at it. . In doing some research, I'm unable to find anything out about this model other than some parts list. Did look up the part number...

When do I really need servicing on my 09' Nissan ?

So not to sound like a cheap skate but if I follow the factory recommendations for servicing on my 09' Nissan 30 four stroke, It will cost me 10% of the motors value every year. I purchased the motor in 09 and used it for 15 hrs. Changed the oil and then didn't use it again till this year...

2 3/8" to 3/4" pedestal adapters. Anybody still make one?

3-4 years back, I was able to fbuy an adapter that converted my 2 3/8" swivel-ezz base to accept a 3/4" pin type post. Basically it was a polymer cylinder with a hole in the middle and a few O rings on the outer diameter. As I recall, the product was made by a company called "add -a-seat". I...
