Need trailer roller arm mount thing

to be fair, i didn't go out there with a magnet and actually check, it just LOOKS like aluminum. Seeing as i build things out of the stuff I assumed; I could be wrong, i'll have to go check it.

Need trailer roller arm mount thing

It's actually aluminum and, due to the fact that I took the picture straight down and you can't see it, they have a slight upward curve. I certainly could go buy some 3/4" x 1/2" (or whatever) aluminum bar and make one, but it's one of those things where I can probably buy the arm with a roller...

Need trailer roller arm mount thing

I don't know the manufacture of the trailer, it just says REGAL on it; clearly OEM supplied for that manufacture. I don't know the model or actual manufacture since the data plate is gone. It seems to me like this should be a fairly generic part

Need trailer roller arm mount thing

I need a trailer roller arm mount thing, i clearly have no idea what this part is called and thus I'm having no luck finding one. Maybe the picture helps someone point me in the right direction! If it matters, this is the trailer. I paid $600 for it, so I'm ok with replacing bearings...

Need aluminum gas tank fitting recommendations

Ahh, makes perfect sense, thank you! I was thinking about having a second pickup for a trolling motor as well; I know you can play games with check valves and stuff, but why not just have a dedicated pickup while it's being built. The tank is segmented into 4 baffled compartments with limber...

Need aluminum gas tank fitting recommendations

When you say float, do you mean the one in the Fuel Limit Vent valve? I have also seen fill valves with a float in them to stop the addition of fuel and shut the pump off with the right amount of air space at the top of the tank (those may be newer than this document). Just curious, why do you...

Need aluminum gas tank fitting recommendations

Thanks, not sure i'd seen that document, or if I did, I'm not good at reading. Choosing what fittings I want for the fuel fill, pickup tube, etc. is up to the builder; thus my query on the regulations (thank you) and a good source for all these components. I need to source the fuel fill, the...

Need aluminum gas tank fitting recommendations

I'm build an 18.5ft aluminum fishing boat from scratch and I'm looking for recommendations on a good supplier and breakdown of what i need for fittings in the gas tank. Things I need: - Fuel fill inlet - Fuel vent - level sender - pickup tube - maybe other things?? The tank itself is designed...

1996 mariner 30 hot start issues -- at my wit's end

Sorry I was on a camping trip (using this boat) with no cell service for a week. Hmm, interesting. It starts and fires for a second and stalls so I was assuming it wasn't an ignition issue, but i can pull all of that apart and take a close look at everything. I could also use the service...

1996 mariner 30 hot start issues -- at my wit's end

The serial number is: 0G357906 It's an early 96, before the facelifted ignition system and intake manifold.

    8 Hp Mecury outboard

Pull the carb drain screw and see if gas comes out. If it doesn't, pull the carb fuel hose, work up the line until you figure out where the fuel flow stops.

1996 mariner 30 hot start issues -- at my wit's end

I've had this 1996 mariner 30 for a while and it's never started right, these are the things i've done to it over the last couple years and it has left me with one remaining problem: It does not like hot restarts; it will usually cough, stall, and then start on the second try. Compression is...

    TILT / Trim

my 40 just has one piston, i think they used that design up to the 75. Is it not trimming under load for you?

    Testing thermostat with torch

don't heat engine parts with a torch or a heat gun! They are not designed for this abuse.

    Testing thermostat with torch

You'll overheat and destroy it. Also this doesn't really confirm anything. You want to ensure it opens at the correct temperature. Maybe it doesn't open at the correct temperature, but it does open at inferno.

    25hp Evinrude

Simplest thing to check when an engine runs for a bit then dies is the fuel pump. Squeeze the fuel ball to keep the carburetor filled, if it doesn't die you probably have a fuel pump issue. Also you can disconnect the fuel line from the carburetor and crank the engine over, you should get...

    1981 Mercury 7.5 2 stroke

A slight leak in a crank seal doesn't usually damage these smaller outboards. The scoring is probably caused by being started up cold and run straight to full throttle without a warmup. Have you run this thing under load to see how it actually performs?? You can only see a small percentage of...

    1981 Mercury 7.5 2 stroke

Light scratching on a 2 stroke isn't really a big deal. Poke a toothpick or something soft in there and see if you can feel them, if not they probably aren't an issue. It's a wonder what fresh gas and a WOT run up and down the lake can do for an old motor, they live to be used. It sounds like...

    1981 Mercury 7.5 2 stroke

How do the cylinders look? You should be able to see them through the bypass cover as well. In all likelyhood the engine will run with 75psi of compression; give it a try and see how it does. If it's been sitting for a long time it might just have some sticky spots in the ring grooves and it'll...
