    Bayliner Floor Project

Now that I'm looking into boats with bad motors/outdrives. I'm finding some that have a volvo penta drive. I have no problem replacing the entire outdrive assembly. But, will the holes line up in the transom? Or do I need to find a mercruiser to make sure everything fits right.

I noticed that one. With it being flood, wouldn't it be rotten too? How do I make sure it's not soft. Or is that the roll of the dice on online auctions.

"Cheap" - around 2k. Already spent more than I wanted to on the one I have now. With the boat auction sites, how do I make sure it's not soft or worse? I'd be open to stabbing this 350 into something new. But, if the newer boat has electronics that were fried, how would I know? The...

Any suggestions on where to find a new boat that needs a motor for cheap? I've found some auction sites, but then I can't check to see if anything is soft... And things to really pay attention to? (Other than soft floors) Having trouble finding anything younger than 20 years on the fb marketplace.

Took the boat out today and yesterday to try and burn as much gas out of the tank as possible before starting this. Every time I've had the boat out it felt "flimsy"...

Looks like just adhesive right to foam to me. I haven't worked with it personally yet. But I got some samples because I was going to put it on a jetski I rebuilt last year, and I really like the look and feel of it.

First off, thanks guys for all the info. This thread is doing better than I really imagined. This has been super helpful already. Made the same post on another page and it was very negative... "sell it buy a real boat" "you bought a hole in the water" I appreciate the confidence this thread is...

    Bayliner Floor Project

Hey guys, Just recently bought a 2000 Bayliner Capri 2350LX, with the dreaded soft floor. But, on the bright side, it's got a brand new motor (with straight pipes!) Got a decent deal on it. Planned on just avoiding the area, but the first mate wants that seat where it's soft. And you guys...
