    If the engine harness is hooked up to the like throttle control would it get spark if I'm jumping the starter?

    Hello I'm 17 and wanting to restore this boat motor and If possible the boat but I don't know if it's worth it I got it for free but can't get the motor started I attached some jumper cables to a car battery and the starter solenoid but the starter at first would not engage but now its engaging...
