    Mercruiser Impeller Question

    I have heard that you should crank the engine over for a few seconds with the lanyard dissconnected so it will not start the engine to purge any water left in the lower unit after draining the block etc. Is this a good idea and does it harm the impeller? i assume it does not harm the impeller...

    I have a question regarding the gasket/O rings used with the gear lube drain screw in Mercruiser lower units. Is there a standard size for mercury or does Bravo, Alpha, older models drives and mercury outboards each have a different gasket? Thank you.
