    Looking for a switched "HOT" wire.

    I am trying to clean up the wiring on a friends pontoon boat (55hp Yamaha). His fuel guage does not indicate when the ignition switch is set to "on", but it will indicate when the running lights are on. One thing has me stumped, I can't find a wire that is "switched" thru the ignition switch...

    How old is too old?

    Someone recently gave me a case of "Quick Silver" 2 cycle oil that is at least 10 years old. The cans are in like new condition. Can I trust this stuff? :eek:

    Spun the prop?

    I have a 1981? Mercury 50 hp (sn5799170) that let me down today. Motor suddenly went to very high rpm's and boat stopped. Pretty sure that I didn't hit anything. Someone told me that I may have spun the prop. I pulled the prop and found some rubber shavings and the splines looked OK (I guess)...

    Mercury 50hp-what year?

    Just picked up a 74 Fabuglas with a 50 hp Mercury outboard, think the serial number is 5799170. Anybody know what year that would be?<br />Thanks
