The powerhead has hardly 150 hrs on it. First sign of trouble: erratic RPM's - from 4000 down to 3000 and up, once and again. I pushed down to 2000, in some 5 min motor stalled. After some run at neutral at 2500 plus minus 500 I managed move ahead at 1500 to 2000 for a couple of minutes. This worked three or four times. After that it would start on idle and stall in 20-30 sec. Had to call tow.
I checked fuel line from the tank to the filter exit - normal flow, no restrictions. There were no air bubbles visible through clear filter. Motor started and stalled in 20-30 sec. Then I revved up immediately after starting to 2000; it ran for 30 sec. and stalled. I repeated this but squeezing the bulb. It ran a little bit erratically trying occasionally to rev up to 3000. Then a no oil light went on. I shut it off and checked the plugs. They were fouled with what seemed mostly gas.
What would you suggest?

Compression test is the first thing to do. If that checks out I'd go to a static spark test and again while its acting up. Next make sure its not overheating, Next would be the fuel pump and then the carbs. Last but not least would be the recirculation valves.

Thank you, Walker.
I'll try all this. What do you think about the "no oil" light and gas fouled plugs?

One more thing, Walker:
What is the spark test while its acting up? Forgive my illiteracy.
