I have a 01 Evinrude 115 HP Ficht motor, the check engine light is on so we hooked it up to the Evinrude diagnostic software and there is no codes, try to get it to go into diagnostic mode manually using the TPS and it wont go. Checked the TPS sensor that tests ok. Still when we start the motor the chk engine light comes on and there is a steady tone for 30 seconds then the tone goes out and the check engine light persists. We checked under the dash there is nothing wired into the tach, disconnected everything from the Battery except the motor and still the same thing, tried a new battery and still no go. any suggestions are welcome. the buzzer is annoying as hell, also when taking off or coming off plane the alarm will randomly sound, and chk engine light persists.
