01 Glastron Volvo Penta SX 4.3 L oem prop model?

I have a 2001 Glastron 185 gx ski and fish with a Volvo Penta SX 4.3 L. that I just bought. It has the original prop on it and when I took it out on the test drive, it seemed to be a little slow on the hole shot. I guess what I am looking for is:

What prop do I have now and what prop would be a good one for pulling kids on tubes and wake boards. I am not interested in going much faster than 35 to 40 mph.

The prop that I have now, I have a partial model number on but the rest is rubbed off. The first two numbers are missing but the end part is:

I would like to know what pitch I have with this prop.

Unless you want a guess on a new prop, you'll have to find out what you have now AND what the WOT RPM and speed is. I see you're trying to find the current prop specs out - not sure that partial # will do it but we'll see.

For kids on tube, etc. one of the things you'll want is the ability to stay on plane at lower speeds, like 17-19 mph. Glastrons are supposed to be good for this by design and a 4 blade prop my also help. 4 blade (or even 5 blade) are often good for water sports although they can knock off a few moh on the top end, which you seem to be fine with.

Just guessing, but an 18-19" pitch 4-blade may be about right for your setup. One of those "High Five" props may be sweet also, but pretty expensive. Only a guess on limited info though, so find out WOT info and post back.

OK, I took every last bit of paint off of the prop. I did not find any serial numbers by the blades or anywhere for that matter. Anyone know what the factory pitch is for this prop? I am going to get smart tabs and a four blade prop for the boat. I just need to know what pitch of the four blade mercrury flo-tech hub prop that I would need. Top end is not my concern.

My 01 fourwinns with the volvo sx 4.3 came with a 14 1/4 x 23 and it was clearly marked on the hub. A 14x20 four blade will give you good low end and be able to go low 40's at 4800 rpms. Don't overrev your boat which is very possible with a light load.


I would like someone to make some manufacturer/model suggestions? I have a michigan wheel aluminum and I'm not that impressed.
