This is a 2001 ELPTO which needs a new electric hydraulic motor. My problem is getting to the rear bolts on back side of the reservoir..there's some kind of bar which is partially covering them making it impossible
to remove. Is there a way of removing that cross bar without picking up the engine completely. Mybe I can take a photo if needed.

Yes but from what I interpreted they suggest pulling the complete hydraulic assembly which means lifting the motor..did you have a suggestion?

sometime you can take a clamp bracket off and slide out
but you will need to support the motor

Things rapidly change in outboard repair, but for the past several years the practice was to loosen the manual release valve, raise (tilt) the motor, and remove the hydraulics. This is AFTER disconnecting the wires to the motor.

Thanks all, I'll give it a go this weekend since it looks like bracket can be removed when I raise the motor and support it with the support arm and swing out the hydraulics as DHP suggested on this single ram system.
